WELCOME!
We are your Milwaukee Manatees Under Water Hockey Team.
You may be asking what the heck is underwater hockey anyway?! Underwater Hockey is basically hockey, but played at the bottom of a pool if you traded in skates for fins and used a small handheld stick to push the weighted puck into the opponents goal.
Teams consist of 10 players (6 active players and 4 subs) and is truly a team sport as no one person can hold their breath for the entire game. It's also one of the only sports that is played in 3D space as you have to be aware of players both above and below the field of play.
Underwater Hockey is also unique in the fact that literally anyone can play! Water is a great equalizer so no matter your age or fitness ability, players can compete against one another and be equally skilled.
But the absolute best thing about Underwater Hockey is the community of players. Hands down (although we may be a little biased) one of the most supportive, welcoming, and diverse group of people around the world.
So if underwater hockey sounds like something you would like to try come check out one of our practices and feel free to contact us with any questions you might have about the sport or the Milwaukee Manatee Underwater Hockey Club.
See you at the bottom!
